About Silver Trails
A few years ago, I started on the journey of clearing the Zeehan Pioneer Cemetery of gorse and vegetation that had taken over the grounds and had prevented access for many years. While completing this task I found myself uncovering and mapping the plots (some 1,500 plus graves at the cemetery) and was determined to find the names and stories of those who were buried there from 1891- 1930 (many who are without headstones). This in turn created a fascinating obsession and has lead to extensive research into the lives of those I had discovered, unearthing the stories of the pioneers who had founded the West Coast and the Silver City of Zeehan. Understanding that our local history and heritage is vitally important to the West Coast’s identity and that it should be shared and preserved, I developed Silver Trails History & Hauntings as a tour operation, offering guided tours of the Zeehan Pioneer Cemetery and sharing the historical stories of those who are buried there.
